Bridgit won a silver medal in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and in 2009 she became the US National Champion. The first Hendricks County resident to win an Olympic metal (or participate in the Olympics), Ms Sloan was honored with a proclamation and reception from the Commissioners on September 23, 2008. Commissioner Wathen and Ms Sloan are both Tri-West graduates.
