Hendricks County Parcel Search Has Been Retired

page version = 3.1.02 , 11/12/2025 10:48:30 PM

Effective January 15, 2022, Property tax information will only be available through the following links:

To search by your name, enter your last name and then your first name (no comma). The search looks for the name that was recorded on the deed.
If a match is not found, try using just your last name.
To search for names of prior owners of a parcel or to find the name anywhere in a list of owners, click the 'Include prior owners' button.
For name and address searches, the more text you enter, the more specific the search becomes.
When you enter only a last name or just the street name and city you could get several hundred records returned, but you can do this if you are having trouble getting a match.

The parcel number search will find the one specific record for that parcel. Enter the number that is in the upper left-hand corner of your tax bill (labeled "Tax ID Number").
The "Parcel Number" on the tax bill is the state number and it can be used also.

To view parcel details or to file Homestead/Mortgage deduction applications, you first need to select the specific parcel by using this page.
Do this by filling in one of the search sections on this page and by selecting the specific parcel on page 2 of 2.
You will be taken to the second page when you click the search button in one of the three sections.

If there is a match in the Hendricks County Data Warehouse for your selection, you will receive a page that allows you to select the specific property you want. Your request may return more than one record if you use the name or address search.

People's Names should be entered as last name, first name, middle name (with no commas). You do not need to enter complete names or addresses; matches will be based on the text you enter, so if you enter 'public Joh'
it will match 'Public Joh' and also 'Public John Q', 'Public John Quincy', etc. (It would not match 'Public Jack Q'.)

Capitalization makes no difference to the search matching.

Business names should be entered as you would find them in a telephone book; 'Howard's Pizza', 'The Shoe Place', 'Mary's Auto Sales', etc.

When searching by address, be aware that some records do not contain direction information or standard street suffix names. For example '100 North Main Street' may be recorded as '100 Main St' or simple '100 Main'. This condition is mainly due to the requirement that records have to be initially entered as they appear on the title deed. In most cases, the street names have been standardized and other adjustments have been made for the public web presentation, but you may want to omit some parts of the address if you are not getting matches. For example, use '1234 Penny' or just 'Penny' instead of '1234 E Penny Lane' to be sure that you get a match. Of course, omitting the street numbers and directions will increase the number of returned records, but you can still do that for cases where you don't know the exact number.

Addresses in the data warehouse use the city (or town) that delivers the mail, not necessarily the city that has taxing authority. For example several properties that are in the Avon taxing district will show a Plainfield address; some Brownsburg properties have an Indianapolis address. This sometimes occurs when properties are near county or township boundries. When in doubt leave the city field blank. This will probably result in several addresses that are not what you want, but it could help you find properties that are not showing up when you have entered a city.

For parcel number searches you can use either the Tax ID or the State ID.
The Tax ID format is like 017-210512-312001 or 32-11-09-240-013.000-003
The State ID always begins with 32 for Hendricks County and looks like 32-11-10-122-001.000-003

Tax bills will show either the taxing system number or the new State number format.

Any of these parcel number formats should return the record you are looking for, but the compete number must be entered correctly, there is no 'best-match' feature for parcel searches.
